Asteroid broke into China’s Xinjiang, forming the world’s longest meteorite fall belt

According to reports, a number of massive iron meteorites of 28 tons, 23 tons, 18 tons, 5 tons and 0.43 tons have been successively discovered in the Altay region of Xinjiang, China. The total mass of iron meteorites discovered so far exceeds 74 tons. With a total length of 430 kilometers, it runs from the northwest direction of Mulei County, Xinjiang to the vicinity of Xiaodonggou on the outskirts of Altay City. It is the longest fall zone in the world.

Simulation calculations show that an asteroid weighing 280~3440 tons broke into the earth’s atmosphere at a speed of about 12~15 km/s, and the asteroid’s incident angle was very low (about 6.5°~7.3°), and it hit “hit” It enters the atmosphere by means of “water drift”, and the flight direction is from southeast to northwest.
